Giraffe Safari Tent

Bedrooms: 2 Sleeps: 5

Giraffe was our first Safari Tent and probably our favourite; it has two bedrooms and sleeps a total of five people. It is situated next to Lion – close enough for two families to holiday together, but far enough apart for privacy if you don’t know your neighbours. It has a hedge to the rear, and uninterrupted views across the field to the front. Sitting on a wooden deck, with outdoor chairs and benches, Giraffe has a mesh-covered fire pit… ideal to sit around with a glass of something in the evening and watch the sun go down. Wrapped heat logs which last for 1-2 hours can be burned on the fire-pit – one is provided for the first evening, additional logs are available to purchase. Stepping inside the tent you should be pleasantly surprised by the amount of space on offer. The living area has two comfortable sofas, seating up to five. With a coffee table between them and a wood-burning stove at the far end, it’s a great place to relax after a busy day out at the Safari Park or one of the many other local attractions. To the left of the entrance is your dining and kitchen area. This has a full cooker and grill where you can conjure up all sorts of culinary delights; however, if you prefer not to cook (and you are on holiday after all!) there are numerous local restaurants within a 10 minute drive, or a variety of take-away options – many of which will deliver right to your tent! There is no electricity, but a cool box with ice packs (renewed daily if requested) is available for your use. Lighting is with battery powered lanterns, cooking and hot water are powered by gas. The bedrooms are at the far end of the tent and divided by rustic wooden partitions with a curtain across each doorway. The main bedroom has a queen size bed – with an authentic, carved African headboard. Its memory foam mattress ensures a comfortable night’s sleep. The second bedroom has a small (4’6) double with a full size bunk above it. Although robust enough to sleep adults, this bed tends to be popular with children and has Safari themed bedding. The composting toilet is situated on decking at the rear of the tent. Canvas surround and tin roof add to the Safari feel… the adjacent hot shower is always popular.

Lion Safari tent

Bedrooms: 2 Sleeps: 6

Lion is a family Safari tent sleeping up to 6. It has two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed with memory foam mattress and the second – accessed through the main room – has two sets of full-size bunks. Sited alongside Giraffe, it is close enough for two families to holiday together, but far enough apart for privacy if you don’t know your neighbours. With open field views from the decking at the front of the tent, there’s nothing more relaxing than watching the buzzards flying overhead while sipping a glass of your favourite tipple and warming yourself around the fire-pit. Inside the tent, the living area has two comfortable sofas, seating up to 6 people. With a gas burner to provide heat should you need it, it’s a great place to relax after a busy day. A full gas cooker and grill ensures a hot meal should you wish to cook; if you prefer not to (and who wants to cook when they’re on holiday!) there are numerous restaurants within a 10 minute drive, or a variety of take-away options – many of which will deliver right to your tent! There is no electricity, but a cool box with ice packs (renewed daily if requested) is available for your use. Lighting is with battery powered lanterns. The composting toilet is a short walk away from the tent (take a lantern with you at night) and the hot shower is located directly behind the tent. The toilet is covered in rustic wood giving a safari feel, the shower is covered in canvas with a tin roof adding to this feeling.

Tiger Safari Tent

Bedrooms: 2 Sleeps: 6

Tiger is a slightly different design to our other family Safari tents but still sleeps up to 6 across two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a king-size bed with memory foam mattress and the second two sets of full-size bunks. Set apart from the other tents it has a great feeling of space – both inside and out. Like the other family tents, Tiger has a large decking area and fire-pit to enjoy a relaxed evening outdoors; watch the stars, toast a few marshmallows… what could be better? Inside, a wood burner provides heat should you need it; the extra-large windows in Tiger also allows you to enjoy the view of the fields from indoors if the weather is not nice enough to sit out. The living area has two comfortable sofas, seating up to 6 people. A full gas cooker and grill enables you to cook if you want to; if not, there are numerous restaurants within a 10-minute drive, or a variety of take-away options – many of which will deliver right to your tent!
